Cattitude Of Que Sera Sera

Maggie’s pawsability thought for the day:

“Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.”

Joseph Wood Krutch

Maggie and I learned a new word the other day: cattitude. Thank you Animalcouriers for enlightening us with this new word for our vocabulary. We came across some cool cats that seem to fit this word. There was a tortoise shell cat who hugged the ground looking indifferent. We could tell he was waiting for his chance to bolt through the door with the sign on it that said “Keep The Cats Out”.

Then we came across the cat in the middle of the brick road. He sat there almost daring us to beg him to come to us. Was this cattitude? Silently asking for what you want?

The pretty kitty on the picnic table edge wouldn’t look at us directly. She seemed to want us to pet her and we obliged. Alas, she didn’t want the “face to face” eye contact. The best we got from her was her eyes opened looking downward. Cats with cattitude are very different than dogs with their “please, please, please-you can’t resist my puppy dog eyes” look. We enjoyed the diversity of cats with cattitude. Maggie thinks these cool cats are really thinking “que sera sera, whatever will be will be….” I agree, cats with cattitude have that attitude it doesn’t do any harm to ask for what you want. If you don’t get it, que sera sera. Meow.
