Roses For Canine Courage

Maggie’s pawsability thought for the day:

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not the absence of fear.”

“Canine for Courage” 2013 Rose parade float
Yesterday Maggie and I watched the 2013 Rose Bowl parade. Maggie became really excited when she saw the Natural Balance Pet Foods’ 2013 Rose parade float called Canines For Courage. Her human sibling Julie at the parade sent us photos hot off the iPhone press. Everyday Maggie eats her Natural Balance dog food. YUM, YUM. More importantly, Maggie likes her fellow canines. Military working dogs who serve (and are serving) her country are the best of the best and the most courageous. They deserve a big MaggieMoose WOOF WOOF salute and more….

According to the broadcaster of the parade, the float is a floral replica of the Military Working Dog Teams National Monument. We agree with the sign on the float; Dogs For Defense Save Lives.

One dog riding on the float was named Lucca. While on duty she lost a leg due to a roadside bomb. Maggie and I like that the military dogs are getting credit for their courage under fire. These are dogs with moose size pawsabilities! Ask Lucca….. the stories she could tell of resisting and mastering fear to define courage while protecting her humans.
